About

Gladesville Presbyterian Church welcomes Christians, and indeed anyone, in the Gladesville area or beyond. We are a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God, and we aim to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-changing Christian journey. Our desire is to make an impact for God, here in Gladesville, NSW by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His death on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead three days later.

Everyone is welcome, no matter your age, beliefs, or background. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Gladesville Presbyterian Church shares its Church and Hall complex with The Kalos Presbyterian Church (Korean).

What We Believe

We are Protestant, Evangelical and Reformed. The Supreme Standard of the Church is the Word of God contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. The Subordinate Standard of the Church is the Westminster Confession of Faith read in the light of the Declaratory Statement.

History

The Presbyterian Church of St Andrew, Gladesville is part of the Presbytery of Sydney North. The church was opened on July 6, 1889. It was erected on land donated by Mrs Harriet Miller with the sandstone fence and railing provided by Mr Wright, who laid the foundation stone. Presbyterian services had been held in private homes and public halls prior to the erection of the church building. In April 1975, the Presbyterian Church in Gladesville merged with Woolwich-Hunters Hill Presbyterian Church to become Gladesville-Hunters Hill Presbyterian Church (at times referred to as GladesHill). The Gladesville Presbyterian Church celebrated its centenary in 1988.

Our Dedication

In thanksgiving to those who went before us and handed on to us a great inheritance and a rich tradition: whose memory bids us lift high the torch of faith. In recognition of the splendid opportunity and the tremendous challenge of our day, which calls forth our courage, patience and sacrifice in the discharge of our high duties. As an offering to the future generations that they may reap with gladness where we have sown; and with the prayer that the harvest may be abundantly blessed by God.
